Listing of the day
Location: Marylebone, London
Price: £11.95 million (US$14.86 million)
This lateral, period apartment in Marylebone, in London's West End neighborhood, is evocative of a historic palazzo.
The property has high, ornate ceilings and rich, antique style interiors recently designed by the Milanese firm Studio Peregalli. It is set across the first floor of two adjoining townhouses dating from the 18th century, located just off Manchester Square.
"It's unusual to find lateral space like this in Marylebone, the area is full of Georgian townhouses that typically have tall and narrow architecture. I’ve worked in Marylebone for over 20 years, and I’ve not come across a property like it," selling agent Chris Sellwood said.
For its design, Studio Peregalli—known for creating romantic, extravagant looks—referenced the nearby Wallace Collection, a former townhouse turned into a museum, a favorite spot of the property's owner.
The owner, who is Italian and works in the fashion industry, bought the home in 2016 and uses it as a pied-à-terre. The property is suited for pied-à-terre use, with one of the bedrooms opening directly onto the living space. "It's like living in your own expensive hotel room," Sellwood said.
The 200-year-old property has two main reception rooms, connected by double doors, with over 13-foot ceilings with detailed ornate plasterwork, including depictions of figures—together they form an original ballroom. The home is part of a development of apartments converted from a former private members’ club.
Like the Wallace Collection, the apartment has ornate rooms and a collection of fine and decorative arts. That includes green and blue patterned wallpaper, glass chandeliers, pink plaster effect walls, a white marble bath, and marble walls and floors. "The decor looks like it's been there forever, and it perfectly complements the owner's extensive art collection," Sellwood said.

Amenities
There is no outside space within the home, but residents have access to Manchester Square, an 18th-century garden square with a central lawn that is open to residents of the square only. There is an exterior storage vault covering 117 square feet.
Neighborhood Notes
The home is on Fitzhardinge Street, one of the roads leading off Manchester Square. It is moments from the Wallace Collection which sits on Manchester Square and less than half a mile from Marylebone High Street where there are many cool shops and great places to eat and drink. It's a short walk from Marble Arch and Bond Street Tube stations, which are both on the central line.
