Debenhams’ offering comes in a slick black colour and features a cosy flame effect, which helps to create a nice autumn vibe. It’s simple to operate, all users have to do is fill it with ethanol and then light it.

This particular product is wall mounted, though freestanding versions are also available on Amazon like the HOMCOM Free Standing Ethanol Fireplace, priced at £99.99 on Amazon. There’s only been one review left to date, with that shopper writing: “Absolutely gorgeous fire. Looks cosy plus good heat throw.”

It is worth noting that some people who have tried out bioethanol fires say they aren’t fond of the smell, while others say they don’t throw off as much heat as traditional log burners, so that’s worth considering before you buy.
